It had been gliding on the fashion winds of San Fran's shopping insiders that The Bull and The Bear in Hayes Valley was a definite place to check out, but sadly, the bespoke clothing pop-up recently closed shop in order for the co-owners Ali Golden and Sarah Tejada to begin their own separate projects.

While Sarah is continuing to work on her creative jewelry and purse collection, Ali has chosen to relocate to a new studio space in Oakland, where she's currently launching her own line. "I've been making clothes and selling them since I finished school, but I always expected I would do something else. However, it wasn't until about three months ago that I thought I would ever really have a clothing line." After earning her BFA in Art and Design with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Golden went to work for a design firm for a few years. However, during this time, she tired of working in a corporate space and went back to school to earn her post-graduate degree in Fashion Design at FIDM in San Francisco.

We had a chance to check out her up-and-coming studio space, which is set to open its doors in a few months. When I asked if she was nervous about working alone, Ali was totally honest, and states, in truth, she was a bit nervous about the transition. "My decision to move studios totally coexists with my decision to actually start the line. It makes a lot more sense to have my own space in Oakland because I live there.
